How to Make a Crochet Fox
This fox amigurumi pattern consists of crocheting one head, one body, two arms, two legs and one tail, which is common for a lot of amigurumi based on mammals. There is a colour change in the head so that the bottom of the head matches the colour of the muzzle.
In the part of the crochet fox head pattern that requires the colour change, it will read:
R10 (sc 4, inc) three times, place marker, (sc 4, inc) three times (36)
R11 With W, sc in each st around (36)
Up until R10, you are crocheting in colour A and then you will need to switch to colour B for R11 and onward. To have a clean colour change, before completing last stitch of R10 (at the stage where you have two loops on your hook), yarn over with colour B and draw through the two loops on your hook.
Fox Amigurumi Tips
The feet in this amigurumi fox pattern use a special stitch called the “puff stitch” which resemble little thumbs or toes.
puff st: *Yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over, draw yarn through stitch. Yarn over, draw yarn through 2 loops on hook. Repeat from * one more time in the same stitch, ending with 3 loops on the hook. Yarn over and draw yarn through all 3 loops.

Fox Amigurumi Crochet Pattern
This crochet fox amigurumi pattern uses orange as the main body colour and white for the contrasting muzzle. The black yarn is used to embroider a nose on the muzzle before it is sewn onto the head. A 4.0 mm crochet hook is suggested for working with medium/worsted weight yarn, but if you are finding your stitches too loose, you can use a 3.5 mm crochet hook.
The pieces of the fox amigurumi are sewn together with a yarn needle, also called a darning needle, and has a large eye for threading thick yarn.
